CBO will release its updated 10-year budget and economic projections on Thursday, June 29, at 2:00 p.m. CBO’s most recent projections can be found in The Budget and Economic Outlook: 2017 to 2027, which was released in January.

In addition, CBO expects to release its analysis of the President’s fiscal year 2018 budget in mid-July. CBO works with the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation each year to estimate the budgetary effects of the changes to spending programs and the tax code proposed in the President’s budget.

CBO’s budget projections and economic forecast are typically issued each January and updated in August; the budget projections are also generally updated each March, following the release of the President’s budget. This year, CBO is issuing updated projections later than usual—and is publishing a new economic forecast at the same time—because the President’s budget was released later than usual. And because CBO’s projections will be issued in June, the agency will not release its usual update in August.

Deborah Kilroe is CBO’s Associate Director for Communications. Leigh Angres is CBO’s Associate Director for Legislative Affairs.
