S. 1203 would authorize the appropriation of $411 million each year from 2024 through 2028 for the United States Peace Corps. (In 2023, appropriations for the Peace Corps totaled $431 million.) The bill also would make several administrative changes to the operations of the agency and codify current policies. Based on historical spending patterns for those activities, CBO estimates that implementing the bill would cost $1.9 billion over the 2024-2028 period and $144 million after 2028, subject to the appropriation of the specified amounts.
