This presentation provides a brief introduction to CBO and the types of research that inform its work for the Congress. It then discusses the agency’s recent appeals for new research in the area of health, focusing on two questions: how federal policies related to pricing drugs would affect innovation in the pharmaceutical industry, and how Medicare’s coverage of anti-obesity medications would affect the federal budget.
