H.R. 533 would amend the Tibetan Policy Act of 2022 (Public Law 107-228) to expand the responsibilities of the Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues to include countering Chinese disinformation about Tibet. The bill would allow the use of funds authorized for countering China’s influence to be used to refute that disinformation. It also would expand an existing reporting requirement to include information on efforts undertaken as a result of the bill.
