H. Con. Res. 34 would reverse the withdrawal of approximately 225,504 acres of National Forest System lands in Cook, Lake, and Saint Louis Counties, Minnesota, from all disposition under the United States mineral and geothermal leasing laws. The Department of Interior withdrew the federal land, subject to valid existing rights, for a period of 20 years effective January 31, 2023. CBO estimates that adopting H. Con. Res. 34 would have no budgetary effect.
