H.R. 676 would direct the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to strengthen and expand mechanisms to engage with all concerned parties including industries, scientific experts, and communities affected by ocean and coastal acidification. Under the act, NOAA would be required to:
• Develop a data-sharing platform to collaborate and share information to improve efforts to mitigate ocean acidification;
• Assess the vulnerability of coastal communities every five years; and
• Develop a policy for ongoing engagement with tribes and tribal organizations.
