H.R. 7340 would require the Administration, upon receiving a request by the chair or ranking member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs or the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, to assess and report to the Congress whether:
A foreign person or entity meets the criteria to be sanctioned under Executive Orders pertaining to malign activities by Russia; and
The Administration intends to impose such sanctions on that person or entity.
On the basis of information about the costs to prepare similar reports, CBO estimates that satisfying that requirement would cost less than $500,000 over the 2022-2026 period. Such spending would be subject to the availability of appropriated funds.
