H.R. 1934 would require the President to establish an interagency working group to promote and coordinate leadership by the United States and our allies in international organizations that set standards for mobile telecommunications systems and infrastructure. The working group would be chaired by the Secretary of State and include other relevant federal agencies. The bill also would require the working group to report to the Congress on its efforts under the bill, on a strategy to share security risks with U.S. allies, and on China’s activities in international standard-setting organizations.
