H.R. 5670 would direct the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to improve the transparency of the agency’s sensitive security information (SSI) guidelines and international aviation security directives. The agency would need to ensure clear and consistent designation of SSI, review and update guidelines, coordinate with relevant stakeholders, and brief the Congress.
According to TSA, the agency has implemented, or is planning to implement, most of the bill’s requirements. On that basis, CBO estimates that implementing H.R. 5670 would have no significant effect on the federal budget.
