H.R. 5679 would limit the tenure of the Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to no more than two terms of five years each. The bill also would establish prerequisite qualifications for individuals who would be appointed to that position.
The bill would codify the Administration’s current policies for the position of CISA Director; thus, CBO estimates that implementing the bill would not affect federal spending.
