S. 2, the Secure America Act, directly appropriates amounts to the following agencies:
Customs and Border Protection to hire, pay, train, and equip personnel; procure and maintain new technology; and perform other activities related to border security;
Immigration and Customs Enforcement for personnel expenses and activities related to immigration enforcement within the U.S. interior; and
The Department of Homeland Security for activities related to border security and immigration and law enforcement within the U.S. interior.
CBO has not reviewed S. 2 for effects on spending subject to appropriation. We estimate that the legislation will not affect revenues or increase on-budget deficits in any year after 2035.
