S. 1518 would rename the Saratoga National Historical Park as “Saratoga National Battlefield Park.” The act also would require federal agencies to update documents and maps to reflect the name change.
Based on the costs of similar activities, CBO estimates that updating federal documents and maps would cost less than $500,000 over the 2026-2031 period. Any related spending would be subject to the availability of appropriated funds.
On February 24, 2026, CBO transmitted a cost estimate for H.R. 1550, the Strengthening America’s Turning Point Act, as ordered reported by the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources on February 4, 2026. The two pieces of legislation are similar, and CBO’s cost estimates of their budgetary effects are the same.
