S. 1262 would direct the Department of Agriculture to release the federal government’s reversionary interest in 32 acres of land within the Black River State Forest in Millston, Wisconsin, subject to the state formally making an offer to exchange that land for another parcel of land held by a private entity. The 32-acres of land was previously conveyed to the State of Wisconsin for public use and remains subject to that interest. Under the exchange, the state would acquire 37 acres of privately owned land for inclusion in the state forest.
Because the land previously conveyed does not generate federal receipts, CBO estimates that enacting the bill would have no effect on the federal budget.
The CBO staff contact for this estimate is Lilia Ledezma. The estimate was reviewed by H. Samuel Papenfuss, Deputy Director of Budget Analysis.
