H.R. 6267 would require the Government Accountability Office to report to the Congress within one year of enactment on the use of digital documentation to verify parts within the aviation supply chain. The bill also would require the Department of Transportation to respond to the recommendations of that report within 120 days of submission.
Based on the costs of similar reports, CBO estimates that fulfilling the bill’s reporting requirements would cost less than $500,000 over the 2026-2030 period. Any related spending would be subject to the availability of appropriated funds.
