S. 1070 would require the National Science and Technology Council to establish a National STEM Week to highlight the importance of education and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and to promote partnerships between industry leaders and educators. This authority would expire five years after enactment.

Based on the cost of similar activities, CBO estimates that implementing S. 1070 would cost less than $500,000 over the 2026-2030 period. Any related spending would be subject to the availability of appropriated funds.
