Corrections and Updates

Following the publication of this report, the journal Nature retracted a study that it had published in April 2024. That study, "The Economic Commitment of Climate Change," had informed some of CBO's estimates of the effects of climate change on GDP. CBO has updated those estimates to exclude that study's results. On December 17, 2025, CBO reposted the report with those changes, which are listed at the end of the report, and reposted the file of data underlying the figures with updated values.
