Summary
H.R. 3813 would accelerate the applicability of the requirement that the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention be confirmed by the Senate. Under current law, the Senate is required to confirm such appointments made after January 20, 2025. The bill would change that effective date to June 1, 2023. CBO estimates that implementing H.R. 3813 would have no effect on the federal budget.
