In the coming weeks, I will be briefing multiple audiences about CBO’s latest long-term projections of the federal budget, the agency’s demographic projections, and the nation’s overall fiscal outlook. This morning, I spoke about the fiscal outlook at a webinar hosted by the financial firm UBS. Next week, I will participate in a panel discussion with former CBO directors at an event organized by the Bipartisan Policy Center and The Hill. The event will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Congressional Budget Act. Also next week, I will speak about the fiscal outlook at a J.P. Morgan seminar. Later in the month, I will discuss the nation’s fiscal challenges at an event organized by the Paragon Health Institute and the Economic Policy Innovation Center.
In May, I will speak at the 2024 Inforum Outlook Conference as well as a conference organized by the Tax Council Policy Institute. Also in May, I will discuss the fiscal outlook in remarks to members of the American Business Conference and to members of the National Association of Home Builders. Last month, I was a virtual guest speaker addressing policy issues for classes at both Hillsdale College and the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Phillip L. Swagel is CBO’s Director.
