H.R. 1176 states that it should be the policy of the United States to use its position in international organizations to resist China’s efforts to influence such organizations against Taiwan. It also states that the federal government should encourage U.S. allies to oppose China’s attempts to undermine Taiwan’s diplomatic relations and partnerships with other countries. Finally, the bill would broaden an existing reporting requirement for the Department of State to include information about how China has been hindering Taiwan’s diplomatic relations.
