Today, I will speak about CBO’s latest long-term budget projections and demographic outlook in presentations to the National Economists Club and the Peter G. Peterson Foundation. I will discuss how the United States faces a challenging fiscal outlook: As CBO’s extended baseline projections show, budget deficits and federal debt held by the public grow steadily in relation to gross domestic product over the next 30 years. I will speak further about CBO’s long-term projections next week in a conversation with the hosts of the Concord Coalition podcast, at a webinar hosted by J. P. Morgan, and at an event hosted by the American Enterprise Institute.
