H.R. 550 would authorize $400 million for the Secretary of Health and Human Services to improve and expand immunization information systems (IIS). For this estimate, CBO assumes H.R. 550 will be enacted near the beginning of fiscal year 2022. Based on historical spending on similar activities, CBO estimates that implementing H.R. 550 would increase federal spending by $396 million over the 2022-2026 period, subject to the availability of appropriated funds.
