The reconciliation recommendations as reported by the House Committee on Financial Services on February 11, 2021, would appropriate an additional $40 billion in fiscal year 2021 for housing assistance programs.
H.R. 5187, the Housing Is Infrastructure Act of 2020, would:
Authorize the appropriation of an additional $100.6 billion in fiscal year 2021 for housing and community development programs and
Authorize the appropriation of an additional $855 million over the 2021–2025 period for capital and operating subsidies for new housing (in CBO’s estimation).
