H.R. 4613 would require the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to establish a searchable website that allows the public to obtain electronic copies of all reports requested by the Congress and prepared by the department. The department would be required to post reports that were completed in the last eight years and to post new reports on an ongoing basis. It also would require VA to submit to the Congress a list of recurring reports VA recommends be discontinued.
Because most of VA’s reports are already available on the department’s website, CBO estimates that collocating them on one page would cost less than $500,000 over the
2020-2024 period; such spending would be subject to the availability of appropriated funds.
