H.R. 6459, the TSA Opportunities to Pursue Expanded Networks for Business Act, would require the agency to develop a strategy for diversifying and encouraging participation of small businesses in the marketplace through which TSA acquires security-related technologies.
Using information from the TSA regarding the costs of similar activities, CBO estimates that the bill would not lead to additional federal spending of more then $500,000 annually. (Such spending would be subject to appropriation.)
H.R. 6459 would not affect direct spending or revenues; therefore, pay-as-you-go procedures do not apply.
The bill would not increase net direct spending or on-budget deficits in any of the four consecutive 10-year periods beginning in 2029, CBO estimates.
H.R. 6459 does not contain intergovernmental or private-sector mandates as defined in the Unfunded Mandates Reform Act.
