Divisions A through F would provide discretionary appropriations and authorities for the remainder of fiscal year 2024 for the agencies covered by the 6 of the 12 annual appropriation acts. Estimates for those divisions are summarized in Table 1.
Division G would extend, through December 31, 2024, several programs and activities of the Department of Health and Human Services; amend each Compact of Free Association and the subsidiary agreements between the United States and the freely associated states; and extend, through March 8, 2031, the Undetectable Firearms Act of 1988. CBO’s estimates of the budgetary effects of division G are summarized in Table 2. In keeping with title IV of division G, and at the direction of the House and Senate Budget Committees, that division is considered authorizing legislation and its budgetary effects are subject to pay-as-you-go procedures.
